Training Courses

To help you get a greater understanding of stormwater management, we have designed and offer a number of training courses.

The courses are designed to assist government bodies, engineering consultants and people involved within the land development space to get a better understanding of drainage design.

The three main courses offered are:

  • Drainage System Design Methods:

    • This course covers the basic hydrological and hydraulic calculations required to develop and assess drainage strategies.

  • Water Sensitive Urban Design Concept Design:

    • This course is designed for practitioners who are involved in the planning, design and/or approval of drainage and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) projects and covers the basic principles of WSUD.

  • RORB - Fundamentals and Applications:

    • This course has been designed to accommodate a practitioner of any experience level and takes participants through the fundamental calculations within the program, how to run models, and how to undertake post-processing on ARR 2019 compliant models to obtain a design flow estimate.

A broad range of people typically attend the courses. Experienced engineers use them as a refresher, graduate engineers attend to understand the drainage basics, and often people from other backgrounds (landscape architects, environmental scientists, managers and planners) attend to further their understanding of drainage, WSUD design and the RORB software.

Please contact us to discuss your training requirements or to obtain details of upcoming courses.

For larger firms, we can also offer personalised in-house training if required.

Award Winning Training

Our training courses have won the following awards:

Testimonial

Val Mag and her courses have long been regarded as the peak training courses within Victoria for Stormwater Management. These courses have been a cornerstone of the industry within Victoria for many years, and there are few practitioners that could say that they have not attended a course or use the course material regularly. Stormy Water Solutions is in fact the primary trainer of our regulatory authority (Melbourne Water) and many other local Councils. I can attest to the quality of the information that ese courses provide and they are endorsed by both Stormwater Victoria and Stormwater Australia.
